The Influence of Professional Ethics and Work Environment on Job Satisfaction of Caregivers

Abstract
The purpose of the study is to analyze the relationship between professional ethics, work environment and job satisfaction, and also to study the factors that affect job satisfaction. 209 caregivers at seven long-term care facilities located in J-province were instructed to answer structured questionaires, and the data was analyzed by technical statistics, multiple regression analysis, and parametric analysis with SPSS/ WIN 24.0 software. The result showed that professional ethics have not statistically significant correlation to work environment, professional ethics was shown to have statistically significant positive correlation to job satisfaction. The result confirmed that work environment of the caregivers does not have a mediating effect on the relationship between professional ethics and job satisfaction. Therefore, work environment has no causal effect to the relationship between professional ethics and job satisfaction. The results of the study suggest the need for the educational institutes to implement professional ethics course for caregivers to reinforce professional ethics and improve job satisfaction. long-term care facilities should also search for measures to enhance work environment for caregivers.
